* Define requirements, design specifications, and performance parameters for spectrometer systems based on input provided by different collaborators.
* Conduct feasibility studies, prototyping, and testing to ensure their functionality, accuracy, and reliability.
* Contribute to the development of innovative technologies and methodologies to improve performance and efficiency.
* Be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, both in the laboratory and in the field.
* Participate in the evaluation and selection of components, instruments, and software relevant to spectrometer systems.
* Stay updated with industry advancements and emerging technologies, and may contribute to the development of new product concepts or enhancements to existing spectrometer systems.
* Drive resolution of technical issues that may impact product introduction and ramp.
Keys to Success:
* PhD or equivalent experience in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field.
* 10+ years of technical leadership in requirements-based product development of complex equipment - spectrometer experience highly preferred.
* Demonstrated ability in leading multidisciplinary teams, developing system requirements and making system and process flow design decisions.
* Demonstrated ability in driving collaborative and innovative solutions under fixed project schedules.
* Excellent communication skills (oral and written), proven ability to communicate effectively within the organization and with customers.
* Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally as needed (20% maximum).
* English (must have), French is a plus.
